Biography

Monika Piskorek was born in Poland.

She has a degree in International Relations from the Warsaw School of Economics, and a Foundation Degree in Photojournalism at the London College of Communication.

She began her freelance documentary photographer career in 2006, traveling extensively in Haiti and Poland.
In 2008 she was commissioned by the World Health Organization to produce an advocacy pamphlet on the current state of maternal health and the provision of the free obstetric care program in Haiti. Concurrently, she worked as a consultant photographer for the United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Haitian Network for Health and Development (Rhasade) producing images documenting the conditions of pregnant women in Haiti.

Monika is currently working on a project in Haiti.
